Happy Mag needed to publish more new articles than usual, with only two writers. Before a writer could start, they had to dig through news sites, pull out the facts and work out the angle. That took most of the day, so the team could only get two or three articles out.
I built a tool that automates the first draft of each article, so the writers skip the research and go straight to reviewing and revising.
02 How it works
A daily content pipeline
Every day, the system scrapes the latest stories from three news sites. A GPT-4o agent picks the stories, writes a draft for each one in Happy Mag’s style, and drops it into WordPress for the team to work on.
The writers now spend their time editing and adding their own take, not hunting for facts.

- Brand voiceThe model is prompted with examples of Happy Mag’s real articles. Different prompt engineering techniques were used until the drafts read like something their writers would publish.
- Human reviewEvery draft is posted to WordPress through its REST API, saved as unpublished. An editor reads it and fixes it. Nothing goes live on its own.
- MonitoringA React dashboard shows what ran, what came in and what got drafted.

Music library moved to the cloud
Happy Studios had years of artist recordings on local servers. I had the work to move it all to Google Cloud Storage, and configure the IAM, and kept the monthly bill reasonable.
